BLUEBELL TOURS VIETNAM – Construction has started on the first 18 holes of FLC Golf Club Pleiku, part of the new FLC Pleiku Golf Club & Luxury City Resort in central Vietnam. The project is expected to become one of the most exciting golf courses in Vietnam.
The course is designed by Brian Curley. It is built through a beautiful pine forest with very little impact on the natural landscape. Instead of clearing many trees, the design keeps most of them and uses the natural shape of the land.
“This course is all about golf,” Curley said. “Players will feel surrounded by nature, not by buildings or out-of-bounds areas. The narrow fairways and tall pine trees will reward accuracy and smart course management.”
Construction is being managed by Flagstick Golf Course Construction Management. Workers are now clearing the first holes while protecting as many existing trees as possible.
The layout follows natural gaps in the forest and gives golfers chances to recover from difficult shots. The course will have only a few fairway bunkers. Instead, players will be challenged by tree-lined fairways, green shapes, and smart playing angles, making it stand out among modern golf courses in Vietnam.
Three lakes will also be part of the design, but the course is planned to be enjoyable for golfers of all skill levels. Most greens will have open entrances, allowing players to hit running approach shots or recover from the pine-covered ground around the fairways.
Curley hopes to create one of the best inland golf courses in Vietnam. His goal is to build a course that is challenging but fair, where golfers can use creativity and strategy throughout the round.
The greens will be planted with Lynkz zoysia grass, while Zeon zoysia will cover the fairways, tees, and roughs. These grasses were chosen for their quality, speed, and durability.
The project also focuses on sustainability. Large areas of the natural pine forest floor will remain untouched, reducing water use and helping the course blend into its surroundings.
Bunkers will be limited but visually striking, with sand faces inspired by Augusta National. This design also helps reduce maintenance needs and protects the course over the long term. Once completed, FLC Pleiku is expected to become one of the must-play golf courses in Vietnam for both local and international golfers.
