WEST COURSES
The West Course was officially opened in December 1994. The West course was designed by Taiwanese architect Chen King Shih. The West Course hosted the Vietnam Open (Asian PGA Tour Event) in 1995 and 1997. Since then, Vietnam Golf & Country Club and the West Course itself has always been top choice for both domestic and international golfers who love to play golf in Saigon.
The course winds its way through the trees offering wonderful challenging tee shots to the tree lined fairways before playing to the softly contoured Bermuda TifEagle greens. The high quality of green provides beautiful putting surfaces all year round for players to enjoy play golf in Vietnam.
EAST COURSE
The East Course offers more generous fairways than the West Course but is protected by well positioned bunkers, water hazards and undulating Bermuda TifDwarf greens. The East Course at Vietnam Golf & Country Club was designed by Lee Trevino who is six-time Major Champion Winner (US Open 1968,1971, USPGA Championship 1974, 1984 and The Open Championship 1971 and 1972). The East Course was officially opened in September 1997. The West Course is 7106 yards long, Par-72, opened since November 1995, designed by Taiwanese designer – Chen King Shih. The West course at Vietnam Golf & Country Club has narrow fairways, lot of trees and rolling greens. The West Course is championship golf courses in Vietnam and it is the place to hold many golf tournaments in Vietnam.
The golf course winds through palm trees that create interesting challenge for golfers to drive the golf balls through the narrow fairways and land on narrow greens as well. In order to bring exciting experiences to play golf in Saigon for golfers, some greens have a tree planted right in the middle of the fairways.
The greens are filled with Bermuda Tifeagle grass to keep the greens at best condition all year around. Hole No 11 is the signature one, Par-4, 408 yards long, dogleg to the left. Tee shot must be over trees located on the left to see the green. The green is also on the height therefore the golf ball need to have some spin to stay on the green.
The East Course at Vietnam Golf & Country Club is also wonderful to play golf in Vietnam. The East Course is 6946 yards long, designed by Lee Trevino, opened in 1977. While the West Course features narrow fairways, the East Course owns large fairways but there upto 110 bunkers and water hazards. These promise all players will have great challenge for their golf tours in Vietnam at this course. The greens are covered by Bermuda Tifdwarf, undulating fast-rolling. The interesting structure of the east Course will be a great challenge to any golfers; even you are professional golfers, you need to think twice before your tee shot.
